I agree that Scratch lacks Sugar integration but it does have the benefit that you can store and retrieve Scratch in file folders which the user can setup. Unfortunately this does require some help with setting up files under Linux and giving the user write permission on those files. The plus side of all of this is that the user can read and write to a USB memory stick and share Scratch files with Scratch on other computers. My interest in Scratch is associated with my interest in the LEGO NXT robots and the FIRST Lego League. Scratch is a very good simulator for teaching children programming for the LEGO NXT robots. The graphical programming model is almost identical to the NXT model and many sensors sensors can also be simulated. For example, path following algorithms have been simulated in Scratch for light sensors and the effects of changing parameters such as sensor spacing, turning angles, etc can be quickly observed using the Scratch model.
