I participated in the first Give One Get One promotion of the One Laptop Per Child project and started developing Activities for the Sugar platform soon after. I have written the Activities Read Etexts, View Slides, and Get Internet Archive Books.
I have also written a FLOSS Manual called "Make Your Own Sugar Activities!" which can be read for free at http://flossmanuals.net.
Get Internet Archive Books created by James Simmons
Get Internet Archive Books is a front end to the Internet Archive website's Advanced Search. It will enable you to search the archive for books and download them to your Journal.
Read ETexts created by James Simmons
Read ETexts lets you read all the free e-texts from Project Gutenberg on your XO, or use Text to Speech to have them read to you. The built in offline catalog search lets you browse through and download over 24,000 great titles!
View Slides created by James Simmons
View Slides allows you to page through a series of sequentially named image files. This can be used for reading scanned in books like picture books, comic books, magazine articles, photos, etc.
