More about this activity

We continue our exploration of the wonderful world of Python, this time around using functions and classes for producing the very classic Hangman game.

The game features concepts related to basic universal children and teenager rights (in line with Colombian law).

The activity I downloaded is Hangman. It is a word game where the user has to guess a word that has been generated by the program, letter by letter. To guess a letter, you can just click it on your keyboard. If that letter appears in the word, the program will fill in those blanks for you. If not, the letter you guess will be written off at the bottom, and a step will be drawn on the hangman drawing at the side. You have until the hangman drawing is completed to guess the word. If you manage to guess the word you win and if you don’t, you lose. It is a program that is useful for learning vocabulary and for warming up your brain. It’s also useful if you just want to relax and unwind a little. The problem I found with the game was that it was only found in Spanish and I couldn’t find any sort of language setting. It would be better if there would be some more directions/instructions at the beginning because when I first started the game I was not sure how to guess a letter, by mouse or keyboard or something else. There could be some form of pop-up window with a written or video tutorial.
