More about this activity

All the jigsaw pieces are hand made and have a slightly sculptured appearance. My aim was to recreate the experience of doing a real jigsaw. But players are spared the pain of having to spread the pieces out before starting work on the solution! They can even skip having to figure out which way up they should be. Pieces that belong together, stay together no matter where on the screen they are or which way up they are.

PJ keeps track of the number of successes - after three, it drops the hand-holding at the start and speeds up the rotating of the pieces.

What does "PJ" stand for? Answer: "Peter's Jigsaws". As always I like to personalise my work so students don't see it as a black box - there's even a picture of me hard at work on my computers as one of the puzzles - a mouse in each hand if you look closely :o)

Release Notes

Version 22 — May 16, 2011 — 21,403 KB

Jigsaw activities require touchpad control - tablet mode is not an option.

So the only overt changes in this version are the addition of the version number facility (press v) and an assurance that this activity will now work properly without alteration in a non-Sugar environment.

However, square or spacebar will return you to the Picture Menu.
