More about this activity
MIDI versions require 1 or more MIDI controllers with 8-11 rotary knobs or sliders. (Optionally, 8-10 knobs/sliders plus 10 MIDI notes.) All controllers must use the same channel. (The Korg nanoKontrol is recommended; use Preset 4. Nine sliders are available.) All MIDI controllers, and additional ASCII keyboards are USB devices.
For Sugar 0.84 (SoaS Strawberry), the csound-python module must be installed. This is accomplished in the Terminal activity with these two lines:
su
yum install csound-python

NOTE: The built-in speakers of the XO-1, or any laptop/netbook, are completely inadequate for anything but testing. Even the least expensive set of stereo headphones is quite satisfactory however. Otherwise, a decent stereo system with spaced speakers is required.
