More about this activity

Physics is a physical world simulator and playground -- you can add squares, circles, triangles, or draw your own shapes, and see them come to life with forces (think gravity, Newton!), friction (scrrrrape), and inertia (ahh, slow down!).

Developer Comments

Doesn't yet support realtime collaboration, but don't let that stop you, it's great fun building weird and wonderful contraptions, and you can now send things you've made to others, direct from your Journal (0.84 and up) using the 'send to -> friend' feature.

Starting from scratch?

Have you ever tested this on a real kid, end to end, outside the lab? We just failed, utterly. Here`s what happened, in real life. Dramatis personae: parent with computer science and education background suggests Sugar activities to 11 1/2 year old, home sick and bored. 11 1/2 year old has extensive computer experience and happily hacks cheat codes, so should not be giving up easily. No help or instructions on site, clicking on game causes a zip and a bunch of Adobe downloads, and 11 1/2 year old grumbles. "What do I click on?" "This is stupid." Logo appears - maybe that was the game and maybe it wasn`t, but by then we`d both given up. You need a Getting Started box or something.
